A small collection of my landscape oil paintings. I'm new to painting, but enjoying it so far.

Knife Painting 1

First Knife Painting
West Jordan, UT
February 2015
Eighth painting, water-mixable oil on canvas panel, 6" x 8". This was the first time I'd used water-mixable oils, the first time I attempted to paint the entire painting with a knife (I cheated and used a brush a little at the end), and the first time I've painted in a style other than wet on wet (in this case, colors were applied "up to" where other colors either were or would go). It's not too bad, all things considered - best if viewed from afar...

Forest Oval

Forest Oval
West Jordan, UT
December 2010
Seventh painting, oil on stretched canvas, 5" x 7". Tried this with a new set of small brushes. They didn't work out like I was hoping. I either need more practice, different brushes or bigger canvases...

Winter 2

Winter 2
West Jordan, UT
November 2010
Sixth painting, oil on stretched canvas, 11" x 14". Clearly I'm out of practice (not that I was ever in practice). The sky's not bad, but I'm still having trouble putting snow on things... I'm thinking I either need smaller brushes or to use larger canvases.

Lake Sunset

Lake Sunset
West Jordan, UT
June 2006
Fifth painting - I probably painted this in the middle of Thomas the Tank engine, so, between 2004 and 2006, sometime... (Oil on 4"x6" canvas panel)

Thomas the Tank Engine

Thomas the Tank Engine
West Jordan, UT
June 2006
Fourth painting - hung me up for some time, went about it all wrong... Hard to paint straight lines! Used an overhead projector to project the image I was using for a template. Finished in Summer of 2006, not sure of date (started in 2004 some time).

Forest Stream

Forest Stream
West Jordan, UT
March 2004
Third painting ever painted. OK, so the colors are out there, but I like them.

Mountain Lake

Mountain Lake

January 2004
Second painting ever painted. Pine trees are a little better here.

Winter Mountains

West Jordan, UT
December 2003
First painting ever painted. Putting snow on pine trees is a hard thing!
